This is an 11" x 14" US title card for the 1944 Andre De Toth film Dark Waters based on a novel by Francis M. and Marian B. Cockrell, screenplay by Joan Harrison and Marian B. Cockrell and starring Merle Oberon as Leslie Calvin. This is a gothic film noir set in the moody Louisiana swampland. Plot summary: Leslie Calvin is spending time with her aunt and uncle in the Louisiana swamps to recover from the trauma of having been aboard a ship that was sunk by a German U-Boat, but she must contend with evil miscreants who want to kill her and steal her family assets. Dr. George Grover [Franchot Tone] comes to her aid.
