This is an original 12-page 8" x 11" Egyptian program designed by Solly for the 1954 Salah Abouseif film The Beast AKA The Monster AKA Al-Wahsh based on a story by Naguib Mahfouz with screenplay by Naguib Mahfouz and Salah Abouseif, dialogue by El Sayed Bedeir and starring Anwar Wagdi as Officer Raouf Saleh. Plot summary: Abdel Sabour [Mahmoud El-Meliguy] was a thief and a smuggler known as The Beast to the people in one of the villages of upper Egypt; everyone was afraid of him, including the police. He enjoyed the protection of Redwan Pasha, [Abbas Fares] who in turn used him during elections to eliminate his rivals. Officer Raouf Saleh was sent to the village with his wife and son with the assignment of arresting The Beast. However The Beast and his gang worked together from the beginning trying to dispose of the officer and his family in any way possible.

Pictured is an undated rerelease Egyptian poster designed by an unknown artist for the 1960 Houssam El-din Mustafa 90-minute color film Farewell to Love [wedaan ya hob] with story, screenplay and dialogue by Fathy Abol-Fadl and cinematography by Mohamed Abdel Azim. Plot summary: Sharif [Muharram Fouad] was a young musician who did not complete his university studies. One day he found a gold chain in front of the Opera belonging to Amani [Mariam Fakhr Eddine]. He went to return it to her after reading a report about the loss of the chain. He met Amani on a farm and refused the reward. She asked him to manage the farm, which improved Ramzy's [Khalil Badreddine] straitened circumstances at a time when he was wanting to seize Amani's money. Things improved on the farm and it produced a return, but Ramzi, who was trying to manage Sharif, became more angry. He told Amani that a woman had come to him on the farm. Amani's cousin Samir came and told her he would love to marry her in accordance with her father's command. Feelings of love developed between Sharif and Amani and she asked her uncle to help Sharif sing at the Opera. She gave him some money and Sharif made a successful appearance while Ramzi became more angry; he followed Sharif when he returned to the village after the ceremony and shot him. The people were able to catch the killer but they were not able to save the life of the musician.

Plot summary: A police officer discovered a plan hatched by some gang members to smuggle jewelry inside some wax figures. Two gravediggers Ibrahim and Abdou [Ismail Yasseen and Abdel Fatah Al Kasri] became involved in a plan bury the statues. A dancer named Kitty came to the museum looking for her lover and pretended she was a statue for the benefit of the gravediggers. After a long series of comedic sketches and heinous murders among the figures in the wax museum, the officer finally discovered to his surprise that the gang leader was a woman, who fell off a roof to her death almost immediately after her mask was removed.

Plot summary: Fakhreddine [Ismail Yasseen] believed love was the foundation for everything and he bet his friend [Tewfik El Dekn] he could live happily with his beloved Shamsolasil, but his friend told him money was the basis for everything because with money one could buy other people and the needs of the people. When Fakhreddine saw his beloved he told her he was going to marry her and told her about the bet he had made with his friend about whether wisdom was better than money. Shams gave him a novel and asked him to read it. The story was about a man who wasted his money because he was unwise. After reading the novel Fakhreddine concluded that wisdom is attractive in life but one must also hang on to one's money.

This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Mohammad Abdel Aziz to promote the 1960 Seif Eddin Shawkat 76-minute black-and-white film Man without a Heart [ragal bila qalb] starring Hind Rostom based on story and screenplay by Hassan Tewfik with cinematography by Abdelhalim Nasr. Galal [Yehia Chahine] discovered his wife Zahra [Zahrat El-Ola] had betrayed him with Kamal [Shukry Sarhan] and killed him. He swore he would never again go near his wife. The years passed and the separation continued. Aida [Hind Rostom] came to the estate intending to draw Galal into her net. Galal found her lying ill on the ground and took her to his home to stay there until she could recover. She caught his son [Ahmed Ramzy], a student named Nabil, in her net, because he loved her madly. The son and the father competed to get close to Aida while Galal's wife Zahra was aware of this situation and kept silent. Zahra quickly learned that Aida was the sister of the murdered Kamal come to take revenge against her brother's killer. Aida succeeded in getting Galal to ask her to marry him, then Galal chased his son across a field with a rifle with the intent of killing him after learning Aida was running away with him. Before Galal could shoot, he was killed with a bullet fired by his wife, who wanted to get justice for herself. This is an example of one of those remarkable events often seen in movies where people otherwise not known to the audience for having any abilities with firearms unexpectedly demonstrate remarkable prowess by hitting a human target with a single fatal shot.

Plot summary: Ward [Berlanty Abdel Hamid] was an attractive dancer in the Nile Delta village of Sonbat who found a job ginning cotton in a factory. There she caught the eye of the factory's owner Metwaly [Farid Shawqi], as well as his brother Abduh [Shukry Sarhan], but she gave her heart to Abduh. Ward and Abduh then went through a harrowing series of violent misadventures until both are killed at the hands of the Abduh's jeslous brother.

This is a picture of a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Mohammad Aziz to promote the 1961 95-minute Zoheir Bakir black-and-white film Life and Hope [hayat wa amal] starring Imane based on story and screenplay by Zoheir Bakir with dialogue by Adly Nour and cinematography by Ali Hassan. Plot summary: The famous soccer player Kamal married Salwa, the daughter of an industrialist, while at the same time her cousin was wanting to marry her. The two lived happily, then Kamal went abroad to play in a tournament. The plane crashed and everyone was killed except Kamal, who landed on the coast of Lebanon. A Lebanese girl picked him up, took him to her family and discovered he had lost his memory. She took care of him, and in his new identity he fell in love with her. Then they married. Back in Egypt after Salwa learned he had died she agreed to a paper marriage to her cousin. The years passed and Kamal became a success. He went to Egypt with his second wife to to sign a contract for a special deal in the textile business. Salwa saw him there and tried to tell him the truth, but his Lebanese wife kept a watch on this. Kamal didn't return to his original identity until he had been injured in an automobile accident. Then the Lebanese wife went back to her country after deciding to sacrifice her husband, and Kamal went back to Salwa.
