Hellraiser (1987) - (dir: Clive Barker) US one-sheet
This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet designed by Pulse Advertising to promote the 1987 Clive Barker film Hellraiser based on Barker's novel The Hellbound Heart and starring Oliver Smith as Frank the Monster. Plot summary: This film was Clive Barker's first feature-length film. When Frank Cotton [Sean Chapman] solves a puzzle he has purchased in Morocco, his flesh is torn apart by hooked chains that emerge from the box. This event opens up the unseen realm of sadomasochistic Cenobites, whose leader is the pin-headed monster on the poster. A dark figure picks up the puzzle box and rearranges the room in the abandoned home the way it was. Frank has had an affair with Julia [Clare Higgins], the wife of his brother Larry. When Larry [Andrew Robinson] cuts his hand on a nail the blood drips on the remnants of Frank's concealed body and brings him back to life. Later the same night Julia finds Frank and agrees to help him achieve full restoration by harvesting blood from men she picks up in a bar and murders, and Frank's body is regenerated. Julia's daughter Kirsty [Ashley Laurence] arrives later, solves the puzzle again and rereleases the Cenobites.
